Botany is the study of plants and their interaction with other organisms and environment. This includes ecological restoration and conservation. Plants are vital to our daily lives. Directly or indirectly, they provide us with food, fibre, shelter and the oxygen we need to breath is only produced by plants, algae and cyanobacteria. Plants form and colour have inspired both art and architecture for human civilization.
